It is along this unspoiled stretch of beach forming the gateway to the Yasawas, that we built Kuata Island's eco-lodge, where Fijian warriors once protected the ragged volcanic coastline. An ecologically sensitive refurbishment is well underway, using design principles that pay tribute to the island's rich Fijian heritage. The surrounding coastline has been declared a marine park and offers many diverse ecosystems to explore; from craggy rock pools to pristine coral reefs and sandy white beaches.
