What is LockTrip?

LockTrip is an OTA (Online Travel Agency) where you can book hotels all around the world up until 60% cheaper than traditional OTA's like Booking, Expedia, Airbnb, etc. Average savings in hotel prices are 20%. By using blockchain technology, a lot of processes can be automatized for which traditional OTA's would have to hire staff to execute. This allows LockTrip to drastically cut its commissions. Don't worry, the blockchain technology is being processed on the background. Bookings can be paid by credit card and the user experience is smooth.

Due to the rate parity agreement, LockTrip is not allowed to publicly show its lower prices. Only when a user has signed up, the prices are visible. This is why LockTrip is investing into a very agreeable affiliate programme to incentivize users to sign up.

The Affiliate Programme

For every booking made, LockTrip takes a 3% commission on the booking value. This is low in comparison to other OTA's that take a variable commission starting from 10% up to a whopping 60%. When you motivate a user to sign up, this user will be your referral and the 3% commission will go to you instead of LockTrip itself. These are lifetime referrals. The referral becomes an invariable part of your account and will generate a passive income indefinitely, as long as he/she keeps booking at LockTrip.

On top of that, if user A is your referral and user A refers a user B, you will receive a 0.1% commission on the value of every booking made by user B, on top of the 3% commission received by user A's bookings. User A is a level 1 referral. User B is a level 2 referral. There are no level 3 referrals.

In comparison to Booking.com, where you would receive a commission for just one booking made by the referral, LockTrip's affiliate programme gives you the opportunity to create an accumulative passive income. For example: you manage to refer 100 users every year and every user books hotels worth of a 1000 USD averaged every year. In the first year, the total booking value would be 100,000 USD of which 3000 USD would go to you. The second year, another 100 users would be added to the pool. This allows you to make 6000 USD in the second year, 9000 USD in the third year and so on. If you re-invest these profits into advertisements, the compounding effect will be even more pronounced.

The money made through the Affiliate Programme will be added to your LockTrip account and can either be withdrawn to your bank account or be used to book a hotel on your own. Imagine having so many referrals that you can basically book hotels on LockTrip for free!

How does it work?

First off, you need to create an account on LockTrip. Then you navigate to your dashboard and to Affiliate Lab. In this section you can see your unique reference URL. This looks something like this: https://locktrip.com/?refId=123456. When someone clicks on this url, a cookie will be installed on his/her browser. When this visitor creates an account, it will be your referral. The moment this referral starts booking a hotel, you will receive 3% of its booking value indefinitely. 

Landing Pages

In the Affiliate lab, you can navigate to Landing Pages. Here, you can create your own landing page for free. The article you are reading right now is an example of such a landing page. It consists of a single page where you can write an article about your local community, about a specific hotel or a summed up analysis about becoming an affiliate of LockTrip. If you are creative, the options are endless. The moment a user arrives on your landing page and decides to sign up, his/her account will be a referral to you. 

The landing page builder has a feature to create a loot box. You can insert a document, like a local map, guide or discount. If you do so, a pop-up screen will appear on the visitor's screen saying 'There's a reward waiting for you. Claim now!' When the visitor clicks it, they will have to sign up and they will receive your uploaded document with their verification e-mail. 

An additional advantage is that all the Landing Pages combined boost each others SEO-rating, making them more prompt to appear on search engines, since there are a lot of new ones being created every day.
